community breathwork for emotional regulation. Grand Rapids Fountain Street Church

Breath Is Something We Can Do Together

Most people try to regulate their nervous systems alone.

They pause quietly when stress rises.
They carry tension through conversations.
They wait until overwhelm builds before asking for support.

But emotional regulation changes when it becomes something we practice together.

This month, Eyes Wide Open is opening new shared spaces across the community where people can learn simple, practical breathing tools and experience what happens when steadiness is something we build side by side. This work reflects our commitment to healing accessibility through breath in the community.

Community Breathwork for Emotional Regulation at Fountain Street Church

On Thursday, May 21 at 6:30 PM, Eyes Wide Open will offer a free beginner-friendly Community Breathwork session at Fountain Street Church Chapel.

This session introduces simple breathing techniques that help:

• calm the nervous system
• improve focus and clarity
• navigate stress and transitions
• support difficult conversations
• create steadiness during moments of overwhelm

Participants will leave with practical tools they can continue using in everyday life.

No prior experience is needed. You are welcome to sit in chairs or on the floor—whatever feels most comfortable for your body.

This community breathwork session is designed to introduce simple tools people can use immediately in daily life.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

A New Way to Gather: Sacred Reset Home Experiences

Sometimes the most meaningful change happens in familiar spaces with people you already trust.

This spring, Eyes Wide Open is introducing Spring Sacred Reset Home Gatherings, designed for small groups who want a quieter, more intentional alternative to a typical get-together.

Each in-home gathering includes:

• gentle grounding arrival
• guided breathwork
• immersive sound healing with bowls and tuning forks
• optional intention setting
• integration time afterward

No experience is required. Guests simply relax and receive.

To introduce this offering, four complimentary pilot gatherings are available during May and June.

Hosts invite 5–8 guests and provide a comfortable space. Eyes Wide Open brings the experience.

When six or more guests attend, hosts receive 50% off a future private session as a thank-you.

This is a simple way to bring restoration, connection, and steadiness into the spaces where people already gather.

A Place to Stay Connected Between Gatherings

Not everyone is ready to attend something new right away. Some people prefer to begin by listening, reflecting, and connecting at their own pace.

Eyes Wide Open hosts a private Talking Circle designed as a respectful space for people to share experiences, build emotional awareness, and feel less alone in what they are carrying.

This circle began as a suicide support space and has gradually grown into a broader community centered on listening, honesty, and personal agency.

Participants are welcome to engage in whichever way feels right for them—speaking, listening, or simply being present.

The Talking Circle meets in two ways:

Online inside a private Facebook group
In person on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30–8:00 PM at Ebb N Flow Holistic Barbershop and Spa

If you would like to join the Talking Circle, you are welcome here:

Community Partner Offering: Ebb N Flow Holistic Barbershop and Spa

Our partners at Ebb N Flow Holistic Barbershop and Spa are currently offering a seasonal Japanese Head Spa experience designed to support relaxation, scalp health, and nervous-system reset.

• Head Spa with haircut — $95

These treatments offer a simple opportunity to slow down and receive care during a busy season.

Regulation Changes When It Becomes Shared

Many people are used to thinking of healing as something private.

But emotional steadiness often grows more naturally when it is practiced alongside others who are also learning how to listen to their bodies and respond with care instead of pressure.

This month is an invitation to experience what becomes possible when regulation becomes something we do together. Our intention is simple: to keep growing healing accessibility through breath in the community in ways that are practical, welcoming, and sustainable. We believe community breathwork helps strengthen emotional resilience not just individually, but collectively.

You are welcome wherever you choose to begin.
